about Lucra Sports
Lucra Sports is a peer-to-peer sports gaming platform focused on providing fans with a safer, more social, and quicker touch way to engage with friends around sports than existing sports betting or fantasy offerings, live for iPhone users. On our platform, users create contests around player performances across a variety of sports and set their own terms based on comprehensive publicly available data that we provide instead of playing against the House. Social is at the core of what we built at Lucra- you choose to send contests to a friend, a group, or the Lucra public feed, follow other friends’ activity, view head-to-head stats and group leaderboards and smack talk with friends or groups. All of this takes just seconds, a far more quick-touch process than any existing fantasy sports offerings.
why we are so excited:
Space: Peer-to-peer sports betting combines several attractive (sports betting) and under-penetrated (peer-to-peer gaming) markets. With a nascent, but evolving, regulatory and legal landscape, the opportunities for us will only grow.
Stage: We are a series A venture-backed company after a very successful seed round (May-21) and product launch (Sep-21). We need to ramp up the team and take advantage of the early lead we have in our space.
Team: We are a small team composed of repeat founders, ex-NFL Management, ex-Microsoft, ex-Goldman Sachs.
Investor Base: We are backed by some of the biggest names in sports, including NBA/MLB team owners, professional athletes and top-tier venture funds.
about the project
Our first release is out the door but we have big plans for new features and will need to support what we expect will be a fast growing user base.
The geek stuff:
- We have released a full featured and well received iOS app written entirely in Swift/SwiftUI. Check it out!
- The backend stack is hosted on AWS using Hasura GraphQL, Aurora Postgres and Node.js Lambdas.
- We have integrated with payment processors, sports data providers, id verification services and more but will continue to be expanding the scope of these.

Technical Requirements
- Build/maintain new features for the flagship iOS app
- 4+ years developing iOS apps using Swift
- Expert understanding of IOS Swift and Familiarity with the Swift Standard Library
- Deep experience with iOS SDK including frameworks such as UIKit and Strong hands-on experience debugging and testing iOS apps in XCode
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect to back-end services
- Good understanding and application of algorithms to test solutions
- Software Development Practices - Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), Paired Programming (PP), SOLID, Test-Driven Development (TDD)
